How does Acloom Notes work?

Create a workspace for a course, add a session, then upload a lecture recording and any supporting course files. Acloom waits until every upload is complete, transcribes the recording, processes the resources, and organizes the results inside that session.

What is generated automatically?

After the transcript and all uploaded resources are ready, Acloom automatically starts the first Summary, Detailed Notes, Flashcards, and Multiple Choice set. Each result appears as soon as it finishes. Short Answer, Long Answer, and Essay Prep remain optional and start only when you request them.

Does automatic generation count toward my limits?

Yes. The first automatic set counts as the first generated version for that study tool and toward the account-wide study-generation allowance. The transcript is processing, not a study-tool generation.

Do I need an account?

An account is required for Acloom Notes so your workspaces, sessions, files, generated versions, usage, and Tutor conversations stay connected. The separate browser tools on the Tools page do not require an account.

Which recording formats can I upload?

Accepted Answer

Supported audio includes MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, and WebM. Supported video includes MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV. A recording can be up to 4 hours long. Standard audio uploads can be up to 250 MB and video uploads can be up to 1 GB.

Which course-resource files can I attach?

You can attach PDF, PPTX, DOCX, and TXT files. Each resource file can be up to 50 MB. These files provide supporting context for notes, practice materials, and Tutor answers inside the same session.

Do PDFs, slides, and documents use processing time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Recordings use their duration. PDFs and presentations use one processing minute per page or slide. Other supported documents are measured from their extracted content. Acloom shows the combined session cost before processing and refuses the session if the required amount exceeds the available allowance.

Can I leave while a session is processing?

Yes. Uploading, transcription, resource extraction, and study generation continue as background work. You can return later and see each file or study artifact update as it completes.

Every plan includes a timestamped transcript, Summary, Detailed Notes, Flashcards, Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Long Answer, Essay Prep, saved generated versions, and the AI Tutor.

Can I return to an earlier generated set?

Yes. When your plan allows another generated version, the previous set remains saved. Use the version selector in the study tool to revisit an earlier flashcard, quiz, written-answer, or essay set.

What does the AI Tutor use to answer?

The Tutor is scoped to one session and answers from that session's transcript, generated notes, and attached resources. It is designed to stay grounded in your course material and to indicate when the available material does not support an answer.

How are Tutor questions counted?

One submitted question counts as one Tutor exchange. Creating a conversation does not use an extra question. The Free plan includes 50; paid monthly allowances are 400 for Starter, 650 for Student, and 1,400 for Pro.

Should I verify AI-generated study materials?

Yes. AI-generated transcripts, notes, practice questions, and Tutor responses can contain errors. Verify important academic, medical, legal, or safety-related information against your instructor materials and authoritative sources.

Does the Free plan expire?

No. The Free plan provides 3 lifetime processing hours, 1 workspace, 2 sessions in that workspace, 50 Tutor questions, and 10 generated study sets. The allowance waits until you use it and no credit card is required.

What do the paid plans include?

Starter is $6.99 per month with 15 processing hours, 5 workspaces, and 10 sessions per workspace. Student is $12.99 per month with 30 hours, 10 workspaces, and 20 sessions per workspace. Pro is $24.99 per month with 60 hours, unlimited workspaces, and unlimited sessions per workspace. Every plan includes all study tools.

When do paid usage allowances reset?

Paid processing hours, Tutor questions, and account-wide study-generation allowances reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle. Workspace and session limits describe storage capacity and do not reset monthly.

What happens when I reach a limit?

Only the action requiring more allowance is blocked. Existing material remains available according to your account and retention status. You can wait for the next paid billing-cycle reset, upgrade, or buy the relevant one-time service pack when add-ons are available.

How do one-time add-ons work?

Accepted Answer

Processing and AI Tutor packs are separate account-bound service entitlements. They do not renew automatically. Monthly allowance is used first, and an active paid plan is required to use a pack. Each pack has a 180-day service period beginning on its purchase date. You may stack packs within the active balance and payment-safety limits shown before checkout. Account settings shows the remaining total, the amount used from each pack, and each exact end date. Ending paid access pauses use but does not pause or extend the service period. Speaker Identification packs are not currently offered.

How does a paid-plan upgrade work?

An upgrade takes effect after its invoice succeeds. Acloom charges the full monthly price difference between the current and new plan, keeps the existing billing date, and makes the higher limits available after payment is confirmed.

How does a downgrade work?

Accepted Answer

A downgrade is scheduled for the next billing-cycle boundary. You keep the current plan and its access until then. There is no prorated refund for unused time or allowance.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancellation stops future renewals and you retain paid access through the end of the current billing cycle. Charges are non-refundable. Contact billing@acloom.com if a technical billing problem needs review.

Who processes payments?

Stripe processes card payments and stores payment-card details. Acloom does not receive or store your full card number.

Where can I find invoices and receipts?

Open Account settings in Acloom Notes and select Invoices & receipts. Subscription invoices include Stripe-hosted details and PDF downloads when available. New add-on payments include an invoice, PDF, and Stripe-hosted card receipt. Add-on payments completed before invoice creation was enabled appear there as Stripe-hosted receipts.

Can a promotion code be combined with the Back-to-School Offer?

No. Discounts do not stack. For an eligible new subscription, Acloom compares the ordinary promotion with the Back-to-School Offer across the first four payments and applies the larger valid discount. Promotion codes are not currently accepted for add-on purchases.

Is my study content used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. Acloom does not use your transcripts, uploaded course files, generated study materials, or Tutor conversations to train AI models. Service providers process content only to deliver the requested product functions under their applicable data-processing terms.

Do the free browser tools upload my files?

Accepted Answer

The file-based browser tools process file contents locally in your browser. Product analytics can record that a tool was used after consent, but does not include the contents or filenames of your files.

What happens when a paid account lapses?

Generated content remains available in read-only mode for 90 days. Uploaded source files are retained for 30 days and can be removed after that period. Review the Privacy Policy and Terms for the complete retention rules.
